Final essay
Since we have been provided with the draft scheme of the essay, I thereby will keep to it.
I.
1. Our work in LiveJournal.
Concept of working in LJ has revealed this internet resource for me, as I have not had any experience of working in it before. LJ is the only resource on the Internet, capable of providing with multilateral intercative communication facility, which allows to view and comment essays of students online.
But nevertheless, interface of the web resource is, to my mind, much to be desired, as navigation through properties pages and pages with post is sophisticated.
I had been composing essays with really great enthusiasm, as as I could understand, muses had been inspiring me.
Thus, our work in the LJ was for me indeed captivating.
2. Blogging and the Internet for English learning and teaching.
As I have already admitted, LJ has disadvantages, but is unique. LJ for learning, I think, does not contribute much. But what it really does – is advanced method to check how have students acquired new vocabulary and improved his lexicon.
What probably would somehow improve teaching capability of LJ, is reading posts of native speakers (some well known individuals) and then commenting them in own post and looking forward for replies from other students. But this would add some extra work for the teacher for him to search for such sources.
What is also worth doing I transferring all report homework, which is ordently handled in o a teacher and not being discussed in the class, should be done on the net in LJ.T his firstly eases life of the teacher, avoiding tons of paper, and secondly gives possibility to everyone of the class to look through this work. But this includes only not-to-be-discussed-in-class reports.

3. Issues
1) Diplomacy.
This issue had been studied far behind, and being the very first one in our student life and work at 1ir1english Group, it was a kind of Gate, which opened SIR for us.
Diplomacy was a very well organized issue, particulary metodichka’s were exceedingly enriched with vocabulary. But would be perfect to add to the course, is encounter with a diplomat, who would deliver a speech about diplomacy. But if this is impossible, DVD copy of interview of a diplomat would be sufficient.
2) Geography is a corner stone issue for us as well, and as far as I remember I did really liked it. What could be useful fir the next generation of 1ir1ers, is a world political map, attached to one of walls in the room and when talking about geography, students would rehearse geographical terms, and hat I would recommend, is to ask a student to pretend he is a ship captain and is departing from the Uk for instance, ad terminating at Australia and he is to announce his itinerary, naming all terms in English.
3) History.I believe that what had been done on lectures was perfect, but we lacked several DVD films of Documentary. Why not to watch a documentary about any piece of History in English?
4) Culture is so broad issue, that revealing it completely is absolutely impossible. I thing that presentations we have done were not sufficient and syllabus could be extended by such sub-issues like religion . Also (I might find this proposal funny) students could attend English-guided excursion in Russian Museum or Hermitage.
5) Education. Presentations are making big contribution, but I think, encounter with foreign teacher would be perfect. This teacher or possibly professor from the university could talk not just about educational system of some particular country, but think of unique aspects of education in his state.
6) Employement. I really loved presentations about applying for a position. I could use this knowledge when writtung CV and hopefully I would ones need it for interview as well. I believe, student could make a presentation (but not a PP one) which they would prepare a t home and then present their firm and try to hire others and check their compatability with the requirments.
7) Health care. Text about Britain had been really long but indeed worth reading. Xerocopies of textbook «Vocabularly in use(Advnced)» are as rich of good collocations and words to remember as a cache of CPSU with gold. But I am strongly concered, that thouse lectures were not enough.(In case of time only).
8) Social Affairs is the last issue and it has been covered intirely.
4. What I can say at the end of my first year about English learning and teaching.
I do love our English classes and I should say that emount of knowledge I have obtained during this year (in terms of vocabulary mostly) is huge. Our work was tough, but this is how it should be. What only disapoint me is that 3 hours of English are not sufficient. I insist, that one more hour of English is required.
I can understand, that in SIR (scientific specification of which is quite vague) selection of issues for English classes is a hard job. It should be, however, parallel to thouse, studied due to main Russin-language course. Thus Religion can be added
BBC watching was perfect, and I suppose that in would be much better to watch it every lesson, but no longer than 10 minutes.
5. What I would do and what I wouldn’t do.
Iam to do everything I am obliged to, I would do more excersisies, which help memorisng the vocabulary, and I also would do excersises on translation and interpriting.
6. What I would recommend to the next generation of the first year students.
I would recommend to be diligent towards their wrk on the lesson and completing their preps and be aspired, inspired and to receive pleasure from studying.
